Festhead Stuff

  • Jim Peterik - An American musician and songwriter. Jim is best known as one of the members in the band Survivor and as vocalist and songwriter of the hit song "Vehicle" by The Ides of March. He also co-wrote the anthem "Eye of the Tiger," which is the theme from the motion picture Rocky III. Over the years, Jim has co-written songs for the likes of .38 Special, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackhawk, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar, Cathy Richardson, Van Zant, Brian Wilson, and REO Speedwagon. He is currently fronting a new band, Pride of Lions, and has a regular series of yearly concert performances with an all-star cast which are known as World Stage.

  • The Cryan' Shames - The Cryan' Shames are an American pop rock group from Hinsdale, Illinois. They originally formed as The Travelers, with founding members Tom Doody ("Toad"), Gerry Stone ("Stonehenge"), Dave Purple ("Grape") of The Prowlers, Denny Conroy and Jim Fairs from The Roosters, and Jim Pilster ("J.C. Hooke"). The band later changed its name to The Cryan' Shames in 1966. J.C. Hooke, having been fitted for a hook as he was born without a left hand, was responsible for naming the group because of the problem they had coming up with a name ... "being a Cryan' Shame.

  • Ronnie Rice - Ronnie Rice picked up a guitar when he was 16 years old and hasn't put it down yet! He began his musical career as a solo performer in Evanston, Illinois. In the late 1960's, Ron joined the Chicago-based group The New Colony Six and sang lead vocals on many of their hit records, including oldies favorites "I Will Always Think About You" and "Things I'd Like to Say".

Upon returning home, she wrote The Flowers Have Come Home, a song about the 'diggers' who returned from the Vietnam War. Jackie's poignant 9/11 song, Angels in the Ashes...Heroes Born that Day, an integral part of The Angels & Heroes Project, was sent to all first-response teams in New York and New Jersey.

  • Joe Cantafio and the 101st Rock Division - Group leader and Chicago rock and roll celebrity Joe Cantafio, formerly of Jade 50’s, created the 101st ROCK DIVISION after his one year solo effort, the “Let Freedom Sing” tour, successfully ended on September 11th, 2002. Let Freedom Sing, was created to heal and give a break to the firefighters of a New York firehouse as well as family members of firefighters lost on September 11th. While flying home from a concert, the brother of lost FDNY firefighter Stephen P. Russell, Cliff Russell asked Cantafio, “What do we do now?” Cantafio answered, “Let’s bring it to the troops!” In 2004, the 101st ROCK DIVISION set out on a world tour. The group, performed concerts in Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Djibouti, Africa and Bahrain.

  • Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band - "Lieutenant Dan" is the character Gary Sinise portrayed in the 1994 film Forrest Gump, a role for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actor. As Gary began visiting troops around the world, people (even little kids) who didn't know him as Gary Sinise, the actor, would recognize him as "Lt. Dan". Those in the miliary also seem to identify strongly with the character. And so the name for his group was an easy choice: Lt. Dan Band!
