If you like grilled tuna steaks and like garlic, this is a match made in heaven.
- 4 8-oz. tuna steaks, about 2-3 inches thick
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice (1/2 lemon)
- 1/4 cup roughly chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup freshly cracked black pepper
- 2 tablespoons kosher salt
In a small bowl, combine the butter, garlic, lemon juice, and parsely and mix well. Cover and refrigerate.
In another small bowl, combine the salt and pepper and mix well.
Press the tuna steaks into the mixture to coat on all sides.
Drizzle the tuna lightly with the olive oil and grill over a medium-hot fire for 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium rare.
To check for doneness, cut into one of the steaks and check to see that it is just a bit translucent at the center.
Remove the tuna from the grill and serve with a large spoonful of the butter on top of each steak.
